Are you a fan of the movie, How to Train Your Dragon? If you are I have great news for you. NETFLIX has an all-new original series that takes Hiccup and Toothless (of the Dragon movies) to the edge of adventure in DREAMWORKS DRAGONS: RACE TO THE EDGE and the new episodes start premiering on June 26.

To celebrate this series premier Macaroni Kid got to check out 5 of the 13 episodes of the new season and we LOVED it!!! My daughter, Victoria (age 7) who hasn't even seen the movies wanted to run out and rent them, she loved this series so much.

PREVIEW

In this new original series, Hiccup and Toothless lead the Dragon Riders as they soar beyond the borders of Berk and discover the mysterious Dragon Eye -- an ancient artifact filled with secrets that will lead them to new lands filled with undiscovered dragons.  But the heroes find themselves pursued by marauding dragon hunters, who will stop at nothing to seize the power of the Dragon Eye.

This series is a follow on to the movie “How to Train Your Dragon.”  Even though we have not seen the movie/s we enjoyed the series.  The first episode fills in enough gaps to make the series understandable, although we would still like to see the movie to fill in the rest.

These episodes have a nice combination of action and humor which keeps the episodes interesting and fun.  My eight year old daughter really enjoyed all the action scenes.  If you are already a fan of the original movie you already know the characters and will enjoy seeing them again.

For us we got to know these quirky lovable characters.  My personal favorites were the Thorston twins who love to play practical jokes and compete with each other.  Some of the action might be a little scary for very young children but we enjoyed it thoroughly.  If you are already a fan you will definitely enjoy it and if not, it is a great way to be introduced to the world.
