C.A.T.S. (Creative Acting Theatre School) summer camps have offered performing arts and specialty enrichment camps for kids age 4-14 in Ventura County for over 20 years. Their quality programs are offered in a non-competitive atmosphere that allows campers to gain confidence, self esteem and new skills.
This year they will feature camps in Camarillo (registration opens in May) and Ventura (Open registration is now) in both Performing Arts Camps as well as Enrichment Camps:

- Performing Arts Camps: Campers will enjoy fun, challenging camps that excite their imagination and creativity where every camper has the opportunity to become a star in a showcase performance at the end of the week.
- Enrichment Camps: In addition to our performing arts camps, C.A.T.S. has developed other enrichment camps such as Wizardry & Literacy camps, based on J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter books, Princess Ballerina Dance Camps and our NEW Once Upon A Time Camp.
ONCE UPON A TIME CAMP (For Ages 7-13)
Journey to the land of Once Upon a Time and Fairy Tales to explore some of your favorite tales. Each day you’ll do something different – sample some fairy tale treats, learn games and work on some friendly competitions, make crafts and learn fairy tale trivia. Your group will create your own happily ever after skit of a well loved-fairy tale. Join us for a week of fun and fantasy!

BOUND FOR BROADWAY - "The Jungle Book" (For Ages 7-14)
This camp will give kids a week of acting, singing, dancing and FUN they won’t soon forget! Campers get the chance to unleash their imaginations and creativity in a safe, non-competitive environment as they are cast in a speaking part and work to present a showcase performance of “The Jungle Book” for family and friends on the last day of camp. Students are “immersed” in theatre for a week as they are involved in each aspect of the production from learning lines, music and dance steps, to creating their own simple costumes. {ALSO OFFERED IN CAMARILLO}

WIZARDRY & LITERACY CAMP (Ages 7-13)
Live the magic of Harry, Ron and Hermione with us at Wizardry and Literacy Camp for a fun week that will take campers on a journey through reading, writing and acting as we study the J. K. Rowling book, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.” Young wizards will be sorted into houses which and each day will work on reading parts of the book and acting it out, personal journaling, making wands & hats and making & sampling treats of Wizardry cuisine. The emphasis on this camp will be the importance of reading and writing - and making it fun.

BROADWAY TRIPLE THREAT WORKSHOP - "Cinderella" (For Ages 9-14)
Young performers who want to learn more about what it takes to be a Broadway Triple Threat – an actor, singer and dancer will have a chance to hone their skills in a fun and creative atmosphere as they work on a performance showcase of “Cinderella” for family and friends to be held on the last day of camp. Campers will also create their own simple costumes and props as they explore all the different aspects and excitement of the theatre world. Enrollment limited enrollment.

POPSTAR PERFORMANCE CAMP (For Ages 9-14)
Have a great time singing chart-topping pop songs all week - think American Idol and The Voice without the competition. The result will be a fun, concert on the last day of camp! This performance camp will teach different aspects of pop music performance, including stage presence and movement, song preparation, and vocal basics. Campers will work on their assigned solo songs each day, as well as a big group number to perform for family and friends on Friday. No judging at this camp – everyone has the chance to shine!

MURDER MYSTERY DRAMA CAMP - "A Wizarding Murder at Frogwarts" (For Ages 9-14)
Think you know what it’s like to create a character on the stage? How about a character whose stage is right in the audience? Join us and learn the art of interactive drama as we produce an interactive murder mystery performance for family and friends on Friday evening. Campers will also learn the art of performing a British dialect. All campers are cast in a speaking part.

PRINCESS BALLERINA CAMP (For Ages 4-6)
Do you have a little one that likes to dance and pretend to be a princess ballerina? Princess Ballerina Camp is the perfect place to make some fun memories while living her dream. Little princesses will learn beginning ballet steps as they put together a princess group dance to present to family and friends on the last day of camp. They will also learn about different fairy tale princesses, make their own tiaras, magic wands and princess jewelry to wear for their performance and create their own special princess dance step.

BROADWAY KIDS - "Snow White" (For Ages 5-7)
A fun half-day camp for younger performers that combines singing, acting, and dancing to introduce and establish the building blocks of performing, foster creativity and nurture self-esteem. Campers will participate in theatrical games, learn a musical number, make simple costumes pieces and be cast in a speaking part in a pint-sized production of “Snow White” to be presented at the end of the last day of camp.
