Each year, United Way of Ventura County seeks to provide essential school supplies to local students in need. The goal this year is to provide 1,500 full backpacks to students in 2020!
To meet the growing need of homeless students and other at-risk student populations in Ventura County. Local collections of school supplies for Stuff the Bus kicked off early this year on June 1st and will end on July 19, 2020.
Your support not only provides essential school supplies, but also promotes learning, building self-esteem, and ensuring that our youth begin the school year ready to learn! Because of the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis, United Way knows that the need for support among families that are homeless or at risk of homelessness has increased greatly. So your help is needed this year more than ever.
WAYS TO HELP
- For as little as $13.00 donate to provide a backpack and school supplies for a student in need!
- United Way is seeking individuals and corporations to contribute backpacks, school supplies, or to provide a collection site.
- Corporate teams are needed to assist with stuffing backpacks and distribution the week of July 21 - 24, 2020.
NOTE: Due to safety precautions related to the current public health crisis, public collection sites will be temporarily limited. If you are interested in hosting a public collection site at your workplace, church or community organization please contact United Way at 805-485-6288 x231. Then United Way of Ventura County will provide a pop-up bus display, collection box and other collateral for promotion.
