Surf Rodeo, Ventura’s annual and classic summer experience, is the only event to bring quirky cowboys and fun-loving surfers together at one place for an unforgettable weekend. Be sure and save the date for this years' Surf Rodeo, a surf contest-meets-music festival, July 16 and 17 at Ventura’s Pierpont Beach.

The Surf Rodeo competition begins at 8:00 a.m. on Pierpont Beach, located at the end of Seaward Avenue in Ventura. Music festival stages and beer gardens open at 11:00 a.m. on the beach and street festival hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Discounted tickets and specials to Surf Rodeo are available ONLINE HERE. Ticket prices are $25 for one day and $35 for two days.

In the spirit of genuine fun and excitement, Surf Rodeo is featuring over 25 energizing bands, dozens of surf competitions, entertaining games and contests, a beachfront street fair and beer gardens on the sand, plus many more surprises.

In addition, returning festival favorite activities include the annual bikini cowgirl contest, the infamous cornhole tournament, the bucking mechanical bull and the crazy kid’s corral. As in years before, Surf Rodeo prides itself on being a platform for local surfers, musicians, artists, photographers and entrepreneurs to showcase their talents, goods and services.

SWMRS and Jukebox 101 are confirmed to headline the Surf Rodeo festival. Other performers include The English Beat, Bob Log III, Tunnel Vision, Hy Brasil, Dirty Rice, Spencer the Gardner, The Pullmen, No Duh, Will and the People, Hub Cap Stealers, State to State, Justine and the Highs, Mark Masson and Phriends, Ska Daddyz, Sweet Reaper The Navanax, The Jelly, and local favorites Raging Arb and the Redheads.

“By creating a bunch of unique surf contests and adding fun games such as the greased pig paddle race and the obstacle race, we’ve lightened the feeling of competition,” said John Drury, founder of Surf Rodeo. “We try and remind ourselves we are all out for the same thing, to just have fun! Let's laugh at ourselves a little and bring us together through music and surfing.”

Surf Rodeo loves its community and has worked for the last several years to help raise funds for the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Ventura County. This year, attendees will be able to help Surf Rodeo give back to the community by entering a raffle for a 1963 Ford Falcon. Surf Rodeo also supports other organizations including The Young and Brave Foundation, A Walk on Water, Ojai Valley Lions Club, Save the Mermaids and SPARC.
