Featuring lots of chili and country music, plus fun for the whole family, Camarillo Hospice will present its 4th Annual Country Music Festival and Chili Cook Off on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Camarillo Ranch and Macaroni Kid Camarillo-Oxnard-Ventura will be there. Last year we had an amazing time at this event and it's all for a great cause, as it is a major fundraiser for the Camarillo Hospice.

If you have a great salsa or chili recipe, then this is a really fun event to enter your favorite recipes in. The event is open to the public. General admission is $10 per person, with children under 12 are free. Food and drinks, including beer and wine, will be on sale. Plus you can try all the different chili recipes from all over the county.

The Country Music Festival and Chili Cookoff includes an International Chili Society-sanctioned competition where cooks compete for cash prizes and trophies for the best chili in three categories, Chili cooks, amateur, and professional categories. No experience neccesary, just a great salsa or chili recipe is required.

MBR=Member International Chili Society, Non-MBR = Non-Members, PC = People's Choice

All contestants must be members of the International Chili Society OR send $50 (check made payable to ICS) in addition to regular cookoff entry fee.

This is a great way to spend your Labor Day with some great music, jolly jumps for the kids, and tons of other booths with games, face painting and crafts for the kids. This year Pacific Camps - Camarillo is in charge of the Kids’ Round-up. Kids 12 and under are free.

There also will be People’s Choice chili, wine, and beer, plus food provided by the Pleasant Valley Lions Club and other food vendors.  The event committee is still seeking vendors for the Festival. Click HERE for vendor info.

The event will also feature a Texas Hold’em Tournament in the Ranch’s Red Barn, and a Classic Car Display. There will be live country music, including performances by Caught Red Handed and the Tim Buley Band.

There are opportunities for a variety of sponsorships, ranging from $125 to $5000 or any amount of the donor’s choice. Click HERE for Sponsorship information.
