LOCAL HIGH HOLIDAY SERVICES

To Celebrate the Jewish New Year

By Introduction by Rabbi Eli Kornfeld, Events by Sharon Rosenthal September 16, 2012
This year the Jewish New Year or Rosh Hashana begins on Sunday evening, September 16th and continues on Monday and Tuesday. Yom Kippur, also known as the Day of Atonement begins on Tuesday evening, September 25th. Both Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur are often referred to as the High Holidays.

Chabad of Camarillo, Oxnard or Ventura would like to invite the community to attend High Holiday services that are open to all, offer traditional services as well as a family friendly service and kids programs. The services are informative and fun, blending together ancient Hebrew texts with English readings and modern and contemporary messages, and the customary Shofar.

There are no tickets sold or membership requirements to attend services. Prior reservations are strongly encouraged to insure ample seating. A special children’s program and family service will bring the spirit of the holidays to children and their parents. Each Chabad does a Rosh Hashana dinner that you need to make a reservation for and that requires pre-payment. Both Camarillo and Oxnard have Children's programs for both holidays.
