Last weekend the "Grinchmas" at Universal Studios Hollywood opened up to the public and we were there to check out all the holiday fun. If you are looking for a fun adventure for your family - full of holiday cheer then this is one event you do not want to miss.

The event centers around the "Grinchmas Tree", where a majority of the Grinchmas fun takes place. From opening til about 3:30pm, maybe earlier depending on when the park closes on the day you go, is snowplay for everyone. There is a HUGE area for adults, teens and kids surounding the tree when you can make snowballs, throw them and create snowmen.

It can get pretty crowded, so I LOVE that there is also an area reserved for kids under 48". While boots are recommended, many people and kids come in just sneakers and have a blast.

Another of the activities around the tree are the holiday tree lighting ceremony in the late afternoon and evening. Universal creates benches where the snow was earlier in the day, for everyone to sit and enjoy the show. The show features the Grinch and all his friends from Who-Ville who make him 'Who-Manitarian of the year" in a fun ceremony. Then they light the tree up and the surounding area, and it was stunningly beautiful. While the show can get pretty packed, it is a very fun event that your kids and family will love. Get there early so you get a good spot.

The last type of activity around the Grinchmas tree is the celebrity readings. Various celebrities read the story Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! to the audience. To see the schedule of which celebrity is reading and the times click HERE.

Throughout the day there are Christmas dancers and singers singing holiday songs right outside the Grinchmas tree and area. They bring a lot of holiday cheer to the park.

In addition, make sure and visit the Universal Studios Studio Tour as you get to visit Who-Ville. As the tram rolls to a stop you will see the fanciful Who-Ville buildings, and experience a one-of-a-kind performance by a Who's Who of Who-ville re-enacting favorite scenes and songs from the film.

In addition if you are a big Grinch fan, you can get a picture with him at the Photo Store near the front of the park. It was pretty packed, so that was one thing we did not do.

Beyond all this Grinchmas fun, you can enjoy the many rides, shows and characters that your kids will love at Universal Studios. The park is decorated with lots of holiday spirit and we had a wonderful time Grinchmasing at this fun event.
