The 27th Annual California Avocado Festival is happening this weekend in Downtown Carpinteria on Friday, October 4th from 11am to 10pm, Saturday, October 5th  from 10am to 10pm and Sunday, October 6th from 10 am to 6 pm.  

The California Avocado Festival is one of the largest free music festivals in California with over 75 acts on four stages.

GUACAMOLE RECIPE CONTEST ON SUNDAY
  • Have a favorite Guacamole recipe, well you can enter it in the Guacamole Recipe Contest on October 7th, the entry deadline is Sunday, Oct. 7, 12:00-12:30 PM.
  • Check in w/Guacamole at Avocado Performing Arts/Grotto Stage (8th & Linden Ave.)
  • Judging: Sunday, Oct. 7, 12:30 PM
  • Open to All Ages - No Age Categories
  • Recommended minimum one pint of guacamole
  • Judged on presentation, taste and texture
  • Entries must be original & accompanied by an entry form and printed recipe
  • Submission gives Festival permission to post recipes on Festival website and in a cookbook. Recipes become property of the California Avocado Festival Inc.
  • Entrants must pick up their containers/entries immediately following tasting
The festival is near the Amtrak station in Carpinteria at 900 Linden Avenue. However, you will need to park and take a trolley to the actual festival. For more information on getting there visit avofest.com/getting-here .
