4TH ANNUAL SIMI VALLEY LIVING GREEN EXPO

Featuring A Playzone for the Kids, A Bike Rodeo, Vendors, Recycling and a Blood Drive

The 4th Annual Simi Valley Living Green Expo, hosted by the City of Simi Valley, is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Simi Valley Town Center (1555 Simi Town Center Way) and will have activities for the whole family!

Dozens of exhibitors including retailers, non-profits, and government agencies will be in attendance to share their green ideas and programs, and showcase their products. 


PLANET PALS PLAYZONE
The Planet Pals Playzone will feature hands-on children’s crafts, games, a touch-a-truck exhibit, and many other activities. The Playzone introduces kids to sustainable concepts in a fun way, focusing on the ecosystem and the role that humans, animals, and plants play to make the world go 'round. Playzone activities include no-cost arts and crafts, games, and hands-on activities, including a large Touch-a-Truck display!

BIKE RODEO
The Simi Valley Police Department’s Bicycle Safety Rodeo will offer bicycle safety checks and feature a bicycle safety-themed obstacle course for kids 13 and under.  
  • A safe helmet fitting with safety experts to make sure your helmet properly fits
  • A bicycle safety check by bicycle experts, who will check your tires, brakes, cranks, and chain
  • An obstacle course to test your riding smarts and skills
  • Free bicycle registration
  • Free child fingerprinting
COLLECTION EVENT
  • The event will also provide attendees with the opportunity to do a little “Fall Cleaning.” 
  • Vendors will be collecting cell phones and eyeglasses for recycling
  • Assurance Document Shredding will be providing free shredding of up to five boxes of documents per person at no cost until 3:00 p.m. 
  • The Simi Valley Education Foundation is also hosting a nearby E-Waste Collection Event from 9:00 a.m. through 1:00 p.m. at the Simi Valley Unified School District Offices (875 E. Cochran Street).
BLOOD DRIVE
  • United Blood Services will host a blood drive, which will give attendees the opportunity to donate blood.
2013 Entertainment Stage
  • 10:00 a.m. - Katelyn and Company
  • 11:30 a.m. - Resale Fashion Show featuring excellent resale fashion by The Mint Fashion Exchange
  • 12:30 p.m. - Local Singers, featuring Tess Nilson, Abby Ward, Sadie Van, and Randy Mooney
  • 2:00 p.m. - Gotta Dance Academy dance peformances
  • 3:00 p.m. - Dave Storm and the Thunder Creek Band (Classic Rock and Country band) with local players
