The FIRST Lego League (FLL) program sponsored by Pleasant Valley Educational Foundation (PVEF) will be starting their World Class Challenge this September and PVEF is hosting a FREE Challenge Kick-Off Workshop for Camarillo students age 9-14 on August 29th from 6:30PM-8PM to help introduce the 2014 Challenge Program to kids.

The August 29th Challenge Kick-Off Workshop is FREE and will be running from 6:30PM-8PM in the MPR at La Mariposa Elementary School in Camarillo at 4800 Corte Olivas. At this workshop PVEF will have the official FIRST LEGO League World Class field set up for review and discussion and they will go over all of the Missions as well as the Project. Team members and involved adults are encouraged to attend.

FLL challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. During FLL WORLD CLASS, teams will build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS® to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. They will also choose and solve a real-world question in the Project. Throughout their experience, teams will operate under FLL’s signature set of Core Values.

No pre-registration is required for the workshop and the workshop is FREE.

To join the FLL Challenge you must be a student in a Camarillo school or home schooled in Camarillo and be age 9-14. If students decide they want to join a FLL team and the challenge they will need to register by September 12th. The cost is a $50 fee per student.
