Every fall the Ventura Parks and Recreation host one day events in the evening and on certain days where kids, teens and adults can enjoy local areas and learn more about our Ventura County ghosts.

LOCAL EVENTS
History Hunt (teen-adult)
Put on your sleuthing hats and decipher clues to Ventura’s historic past as we wander through the downtown with a stop for lunch (not included) at a local restaurant where we reveal the answers. Meet at front steps of City Hall. Historian Guide Glenda Jackson

Cemetery Park Tour (teen-adult) $20
We’ll explore the stories of our city’s pioneers at rest (and some at unrest) in Memorial Park and on 11/1 Day of the Dead traditions. Meet at cemetery parking lot off Poli St near Crimea St.

Ghostly Ladies of the Olivas Adobe (teen-adult) 
Download the free Ghost Radar app as we explore this historic landmark with tools and experiments to detect its phantom women including the Lady in Black. Meet your guide Richard Senate onsite at 4200 Olivas Park Drive.

Ghosts of the Hall (Age 10 years-adult)
Explore the afterlife of the inhabitants of this former County Courthouse with ghostly tales from your historian guide Glenda Jackson. Meet at the front entrance of City Hall.

Classic Ghosts and Ghouls Tour (teen-adult)
This “Chiller” classic features Richard Senate supernatural stories of bizarre phenomena at Ventura’s Old Courthouse: haunted bathrooms and hallways where a floating head lingers and an angry Lady in Red stalks, strange trial cases and the building’s mysterious symbolism. Meet on the steps of City Hall.

Beginning Ghost Hunters (Age 8-16 years) 
Scooby Do, why not try ghost hunting too? Young paranormalists will learn the steps and tools they need to begin their careers at in this “tour and explore” of Ventura City Hall, a historic (and haunted) landmark. Meet Richard Senate at the front steps of City Hall.

Ghost Bus Adventure (Age 8 years-adult)
Our ghost-mobile visits Ventura’s haunted heritage of neighborhoods and landmarks notorious for ghost sightings including the Ortega Adobe and Memorial Park with your guide Richard Senate. Meet at City Hall’s front steps.

We’ll examine as ghost hunters the historic 1857 adobe home of Emigdio Ortega with ghost hunting tools to reveal its supernatural story. Meet onsite at 215 W Main St. Guide Richard Senate.

Olivas Special Halloween Tour (teen-adult) 
Spend some after dark hours in one of the most haunted places in all California with ghost hunter Richard Senate with a focus on sightings of two ghost children (a boy and girl) and perhaps their phantom dog! Meet onsite at Olivas Adobe, 4200 Olivas Park Dr.

Victorian Ventura (teen-adult)
Learn the history of Ventura’s first park and houses of the Mitchell Block. Why was Plaza Park planted in potatoes? Meet beneath the Moreton Bay Fig Tree the corner of Santa Clara & Chestnut Streets. Guide Glenda Jackson.

Haunted History (all ages) 
Take a unique look at our city from its 101-year-old City Hall to even older Mission in a walk with historian Richard Senate as he shares stories of strange curses, outlaws, ghosts and bizarre incidents. Meet at the front steps of City Hall.
