Pleasant Valley Education Foundation (PVEF) looking for 3rd through 8th grade students in Camarillo who want to participate in or learn more about the 14th annual CineMagic Performing Arts Program. This year the theme of the show is, “Front Page to Broadway Stage!”

Orientation meetings for parents and prospective Camarillo student performers  are being held on Wednesday, October 1st and Thursday, October 2nd, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Camarillo Heights Elementary School, 35 Catalina Drive, in Camarillo.

Popular Camarillo instructor Lindann Cheney will be back for her 8th year as Director of this unique musical theater program open to all students in a Camarillo School who are in 3rd thru 8th grade.

This year, most 3rd through 5th grade students in the Pleasant Valley School District will learn the CineMagic songs during the school day. Director, Cheney has been hired as a music specialist by the school district.

The Pleasant Valley School District is very excited to be a co-sponsor of this year’s CineMagic Program along with the Pleasant Valley Education Foundation (PVEF).

For students in either middle schools or students in charter, private, and home schools in the Camarillo area they will receive their instruction in rehearsals during after school hours.

CineMagic features a new format every year to give students a variety of theater skills and experiences, including vocal instruction, stage presence, confidence building, team building, choreography, and dramatic presentation.

The “Front Page to Broadway Stage” theme involves music based on historical events throughout the decades. Each headline will come to life as a Broadway extravaganza. Performances will be April 30, May 1 and May 2, 2015 at Crossroads Community Church, Camarillo.
