ADOPT A PET THIS HOLIDAY SEASON & SAVE $100

Home For the Holidays Pet Adoption Event

During the month of December, Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) is reducing pet adoption fees at its Camarillo Animal Adoption Centers to encourage local residents to adopt stray animals at the holidays.

Through Dec. 31, dog and cat adoption fees have been lowered to $25 during the VCAS “Home for the Holidays” pet adoption event. The regular pet adoption fee is $125.

When adopted, all VCAS dogs and cats come with a certification of surgical sterilization, preliminary vaccinations, their first rabies vaccine, a Ventura County animal license, an implanted trovan microchip and a certificate for a free health exam at any participating Ventura County veterinarian’s office.  In addition, dog adoptions include a free 6 week obedience class.

For people who want to help but are not in a position to adopt, VCAS suggests making a donation by clicking on the “Ways to Support VCAS” button on the agency’s new website,  www.vcas.us. All funding collected goes toward the care and comfort of the hundreds of animals housed at VCAS Adoption Centers.

In addition to upgrading their website, VCAS is currently making many upgrades at their adoption facilities. In an effort to sooth and calm the animals, they recently installed a kennel-wide sound system. VCAS dogs, cats and potential adopters are currently enjoying the sounds of Christmas carols.
