The 10th Annual Summerfest community celebration of healthy living, presented by Ventura Education Partnership (VEP) and the Ventura Unified School District is on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at Ventura Unified School District’s Education Service Center, 255 West Stanley Avenue in Ventura.
Summerfest will once again include a 3,000-meter run/walk at 8am, and the first 1,000 families in the race will receive a free reusable grocery bag (limit 1 per family).

Over 90 free community, sports and health organizations will have booths offering fun, hands-on activities, demonstrations and information, all with a focus on living a healthy and active lifestyle.
Other popular activities are the rock-climbing wall, kids fun zone, and free sports physicals (parents must be present). Live entertainment will be provided on the main stage by local youth groups including Buena Drum Line, Ballet Folklorico de DATA, Ventura High School Dance Team, Rubicon Broadway Juniors, SuperNova Dance Academy and Gold Coast Gymnastics to name a few. Guests will also enjoy choosing from healthy food options from local food trucks including the Underground Gourmet and Shave It.

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SUMMERFEST 3000
- Under Age 18 is FREE when you register now, prices may go up on the day of the race to $10
- Adults pay $10 when they register now, prices may go up on the day of the race to $20
- Race shirts and awards will not be given, however the event will be timed.
- Elementary and Middle School Kids will get finishers medals.
- The fastest VUSD school in both the elementary and middle school divisions will get a special prize (Using times for VUSD schools, the 2 fastest boys and 2 fastest girls will determine the fastest school.)
- Also a prize for the VUSD school with the most participants.

After the race, families can stay and enjoy many free activities at more than fifty community, sports and health-related booths provided by our local community of businesses, non-profits, sports and service organizations. All festivities focus on engaging children and their families to become and stay fit, active and healthy.
Summerfest is a free community event generously supported by title sponsor, Clif Bar Mountains2Beach Marathon and flagship sponsors, Kaiser Permanente and Community Memorial Health System. Funds raised from Summerfest 2015 help support school nutrition and physical activity programs as well as VEP Health and Wellness Grants.
