CAMARILLO ACADEMIC OLYMPICS SEEKS VOLUNTEERS

Volunteer to Help Make the 2011-2012 Event Great for Kids in 4th Thru 8th Grade

September 18, 2011
Every two years, a group of Camarillo citizens pull together an extremeley impressive and unique event for the community— the Camarillo Academic Olympics (CAO).

The CAO is currently looking for volunteers to help organize and run this great opportunity for the children in our community. If you are looking for a worthy project to help out with, then this is a project that really needs parental involvement. They have many opportunities to volunteer, from serving on the board to test preparation, to event setup  and even helping organize the award’s night.

The 2011- 12 school years' event , will include more than 2,000 4th thru 8th graders from all of Camarillo’s public and private schools. They will compete in 10 individual subject areas. Plus there is also a team competition— SuperQuiz—that is the highlight of the annual awards night.

Anyone interested in helping with this great event for our kids and the community can contact Rick Hazeltine, the chair of the Camarillo Academic Olympics at  hazeltine1@verizon.net.
