MACARONI READS: LUCKY THE LEPRECHAUN

Every Kid Loves The Magic of The Leprechaun

By Erin Stolle, Macaroni Kid Alpharetta/Roswell/Milton, GA Publisher March 11, 2012
Watching the innocence of a child and how they believe in the magic of the unseen is one of my favorite parts about being a parent.  I love to see my sons captivated by the legends that we have come to know throughout life, and to help me, once again, learn to believe.

So, I couldn't have been more excited when I discovered a new book in my mailbox: "Lucky the Leprechaun," co-authored by two moms.  My 5-year-old son, who has just started to read, insisted we sit down right then and read through it together.  His eyes widened as the story of the leprechaun unfolded onto the pages.

In this brightly illustrated story, you'll follow Lucky the Leprechaun through his daily tasks of making leprechaun shoes and doing his best to keep hidden from watchful eyes.  The clever rhyming words teach children of all ages not only the story of the leprechaun, but also to be kind, a good listener, and treat others with respect.  It is then when they will discover the hidden treasures left for them on St. Patrick's Day morning.

Along with the book comes the materials to build your own leprechaun trap, as well as a CD with audio clips of the story, music movement sing along activities and printable worksheets for the children.  Your kids will love to create this fun trap to help in trying to catch this sneaky character!  It even comes with gold coins to help lure Lucky in!

I always know a book is a hit when my 5-year-old continues to flip through the pages, reading the words he knows and studying the pictures.  I just know his mind is racing with excitement on discovering Lucky hiding around the corner, or even at the end of a rainbow.

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, pick up a copy of this book for your children and bring the magic home!  You'll be glad you did!
