Fun & Easy & Very Stylish for Cinco De Mayo Day

By Kyetra Belton April 29, 2012
Mexican and Southwestern jewelry is beautiful! It is full of amber and turquoise and smooth, pretty stones. For Cinco de Mayo, make some jewelry of your own and use dried beans for the stones.

Materials Needed:
  • Empty toilet paper rolls
  • Black, silver, or gold paint (this will be the "metal" of your bracelet)
  • Paint brush or sponge
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Dried beans in lots of colors
How To:
  1. Take your toilet paper roll and cut it lengthwise.
  2. Then cut it in thirds. This will make three cuff bracelets.
  3. Now you can paint the bracelet. You can make it silver, gold, or black. We did ours in black.
  4. After the paint is dry, you are ready to glue on your "stones".
  5. We used a liquid glue but hot glue would work great also with older children.
  6. Add your beans in patterns or randomly.
  7. Make it just the way you want.
  8. When is glue is dry you are ready to wear your Mexican jewelry!
