MACARONI REVIEW:OTTERBOX iPAD DEFENDER SERIES CASE

Protect Your Expensive Electronic Devices With Otterbox

By Sharon Rosenthal, www.camarillo.macaronikid.com December 23, 2012
For my birthday this year I bought a brand new iPad 2. Knowing how tough I am on my iPhone I knew I needed some sort of cover/case to protect it from how tough I am on electronic devices. While my iPad is still in one piece, the same cannot be said for the iPad case I bought. That is why when Macaroni Kid sponsor OtterBox® offered me a case to review from their Defender Series® iProtection cases, I was excited.

The last case I got was fairly cheap but all I could afford after investing in the iPad, I really wanted a good quality case that could protect the iPad from a 7 year old, 5 year old and one year old, but iPad Defender Series® iProtection cases cost around $90 so its quite an investment.

My new case arrived this week and I was so excited to check it out. I chose the Aquamarine color but Otterbox makes tons of colors for you to choose from. The case is hard and sturdy but at the same time soft enough so its comfortable to carry and use. I love how well made and how well fitted the case is on my iPad. My last cover got very soft over time and did not hold up very well for my busy life.

The Defender Series case that I received really maximizes protection without sacrificing mobility or functionality, which is Otterboxes tag line. Some of the really great features of the Defender case are the memory foam pads that cradle the device within a sturdy, easy-to-install polycarbonate shell. A robust silicone skin wraps around the shell to absorb shock and protect ports from dust and dirt. A built-in screen protector keeps the Retina™ display pristine and free from scratches, and any smudges or fingerprints can easily be cleaned.

Plus I love the attachable stand that comes with the case, made out of polycarbonate  that supports viewing in portrait or landscape mode and functions as a durable screen shield when the iPad is not in use. The stand also incorporates two magnets to initiate device sleep mode when placed over the screen and awaken the device when removed, conserving battery power.

While I need all the protection I can get you might not need as much protection as I got. In that case Otterbox makes other models for all your electronic devices from iPhones to Kindles.
