STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL ENTERTAINMENT!SEE WHOSE COMING

This years Strawberry Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, 2013 at Strawberry Meadows of College Park in Oxnard from 10am to 6:30pm on both days. General admission is $12, seniors 62+ are $8 and children ages 5-12 are $5. Kids 4 and under are free. Active military and dependents with ID are $8.

Plus  join the fun this weekend as 100.7 KHAY Berry Battle of the Bands “Square Off” and is hosted by 100.7 KHAY’s own Dave Bradley at The Collection at Riverpark outdoor stage at the newly open Collection Park in Oxnard on Sunday, April 28th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm, where festivities include interactive games, prizes, art displays, and more, as a prelude to the California Strawberry Festival celebration.

Berry Best Hat Contest
  • Grand Prize Vacation to Maui, Hawaii or Montego Bay, Jamaica
  • Put the Kentucky Derby to shame with your own berry-creation bonnet. 
  • Attend the Festival with sensational strawberry “bling” on your crown, and you could win an exotic vacation getaway. 
  • The contest gets underway after 3:00pm with a parade on the Festival Stage. 
  • Must be 18 or older and check in by 2:00pm at the Community Connections booth.
Berry Best Dance Contest Presented by Coca-Cola
  • Prize $500 cash prize
  • Put your best foot forward and groove to the beat. 
  • Five teams of five have 30 minutes to learn a one-minute dance routine from an expert choreographer. 
  • The “dance-off” performance begins at 12:00pm daily at the Festival Stage with the crowd deciding which team wins $500. 
  • Listen to B95.1-FM to win a spot on a team, or sign up at the Community Connections booth by 10:30am to be on a reserve list. 
  • No age limit.

THE FESTIVAL
Ranking among the top Festivals in the nation, the fruitful fete boasts strawberries every way imaginable, featuring all day fun for the entire family with concert performances, the Strawberry Promenade with celebrity cooking demonstrations, more than 250 Fine Arts & Crafts booths, Strawberryland For Kids with free rides and attractions, gooey contests, special appearances, and more on 15 acres of parkland.


Never in short supply, delicious strawberry dishes are a key attraction, from strawberry kabobs, strawberry nachos, strawberry pizza and even strawberry beer -- strawberries with funnel cake, chocolate dipped, glazed and powdered, are all for the feasting from 50 food and beverage booths. The “build your own” strawberry shortcake tent lets you control your strawberry bliss as you pile on the goodness. All proceeds from the non-profit food vendors benefit more than 20 Southland charities and close to $4 million dollars have  gone to worthy causes over the past decades while paying tribute to the region’s agricultural heritage.
