On Saturday, Macaroni Kid Camarillo-Oxnard-Ventura hosted an end-of-summer screening party for Disney's Super Buddies Blu-Ray and DVD out on Tuesday, August 27th. The kids enjoyed ice cream, Jiffy Pop Popcorn and we made super hero capes before we sat down and watched the movie.
The capes were fun to make, pretty easy and kids had a blast making them, especially the girls that attended the party.

Disney also provided some fun sheets for the kids to use to be their own super heroes and the kids loved being creative with all their special likes and interested.

If you would like to make the capes as well and print out some fun activities for your kids, click HERE for the file. To make the capes, I headed down to Joann's Fabrics in Oxnard and bought a yard of cape material and a few 8 1/2x11 felt sheets, and some Velcro material. I then cut out the fabric using the templates and kids had fun using Elmer's glue to attach the shapes they cut out. We did have issues gluing the shapes to the felt material but I used a glue gun and then we were ready to watch the movie.

Disney's Super Buddies is geared to kids age 2-9 but even the tweens at the party enjoyed the movie. Both boys and girls really enjoyed the movie and the movie had adventure, aliens, humor and plenty of fun with the Super Buddies.

This movie was fun and a great way to spend a hot summer Saturday because it's high on humor and low on scary violence. The super heroes in this comedy are adorable talking puppies who get transformed into caped crusaders who learn to unleash their amazing abilities and use teamwork race to the rescue when a shape-shifting bully from outer space threatens the planet.
Packed with laughs, each puppy embodies super traits that help prove when you use your wits and work together, you don't need super powers to be a super hero!
