Kids should plan on dressing in costume and kids running will win prize money in the costume contest; 1st Place $30, 2nd Place $20 and 3rd Place $10. The entry fee for the 1K Kid's Fun run is $10 per child.
1K KIDS FUN RUN
- This aspect of the race starts at 8:45 a.m. near the Santa to the Sea Finish Line.
- Check in begins at 8:00 am for those who have pre-registered.
The supervised, non-competitive 1K Kid’s Fun Run starts near the Santa to the Sea Finish Line, in the EXPO area. With volunteers cheering along the way, the children will follow a paved and safe route, ending with a final sprint in the official finisher’s chute, and under the Santa to the Sea arch.
Parents may run with younger children, or cheer along the course. Children will have a chance to decorate their bibs and make a holiday craft before the run.

After finishing, the kids will receive their Santa to the Sea Finisher’s medal, the same official Finisher’s medal that’s awarded to all runners.
The 1K Kids Run is recommended for children 3 and up. A shorter course is available for our youngest athletes (3–4 years) and will start after the 1K.
