Earth Day this year is on April 22, 2020 and a great way to start the celebration early is with Chocolate Cupcakes with Oreo Dirt topped and Gummy Worms your kids can eat.
Its a great conversation starter about Earthworms and how they help our environment and the gardens we grow. Here is a link to some interesting facts about Earthworms!
Ingredients
- Box of cupcake mix (plus all ingredients listed on the back)
- Cupcake liners
- Can of chocolate icing
- Chocolate sandwich cookies or Oreo's
- Big spoon or a measuring cup (something good for smashing that won't break!)
- Gummy worms
How To
- Bake cupcakes according to directions on the box.
- Once cupcakes are cooled, allow your kids to ice their cupcake. Place iced cupcakes aside.
- Place 2 Oreo cookies in a plastic zipper bag…SEAL IT! Then have your child use a big spoon or the flat bottom of a measuring cup to SMASH their cookies (This was my kids' favorite part!!) .
- Sprinkle the top of the iced cupcake with the smashed cookies.
- Add gummy worms to the top of the cupcake (my kids thought it was funny to have one hanging off the side!)
