Kid's Coloring Contest Now Thru May 4

The 31st annual California Strawberry Festival is just a few weeks away and we are starting a coloring contest just for kids this week for a 4-pack of tickets to the Strawberry Festival when it opens from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sat. and Sun., May 17 and 18 at Strawberry Meadows at Oxnard Community College, 3250 S. Rose Avenue.

To enter just download this COLORING sheet, have your kids color it and parents email the completed entry to sharonr@macaronikid.com by May 4th, 2014 at 12am PST.

Each entry will receive a number and on May 4th at 12am we will select a winning entry by random.org. Entries will be displayed in our next issue and our Facebook page unless a parent requests it not be uploaded to Facebook.

Jam packed with festivities and indulgent strawberry eats, the 31st Annual California Strawberry Festival in Oxnard serves up the berry best of all-day fun, with proceeds benefitting charities. Featuring 50+ food booths, gooey contests like the tart toss, celebrity chef demonstrations, rides and attractions, a Strawberryland oasis for kids, 250 arts & crafts exhibitors, and concerts on multiple stages, the celebration ranks among the nation’s top outdoor Festivals.

The festival will also have 50+ food booths selling strawberry treats, make-your-own strawberry shortcake tent and contests including the Berry Best Dressed Baby contest.

Admission is $5 to $12. A free express shuttle service runs from six locations; limited on-site parking is $10.

  • Noon: We The Folk (world folk and pop)
  • 1:40 p.m.: Jeanne Tatum and Co. (soul)
  • 3 p.m.: Berry Best Hat Contest
  • 3:20 p.m.: UnderCover Girls (classics by all-girl band)
