When this doll arrived, my 7 year old, Victoria, got so excited. Samantha has dark brown hair, and big Brown eyes and so she even looks a lot like my 7-year old. The dress she arrived in is super cute with a petal-pink dress with a layer of sheer dotted mesh on top, a lace hem and collar, short puff sleeves, and a burgundy velvet sash and she even has a bow in her hair and wears tights and pretty white shoes.
The Samantha doll came with a paperback book called "Manners and Mischief," the first novel-length volume of Samantha’s classic series. My daughter, hates reading and so to make her earn the doll I told her she had to earn the doll by learning all about her new doll in the Samantha BeForever “Journey” book that accompanies the doll.

Victoria really enjoyed reading about Samantha's adventure in this BeForever “Journey” book. It really helped her understand the character and the historical info on who Samantha was and what kind of challenges she faced in her era. The multiple-ending adventure allowed her to choose what happened at key points,and made her more interested in the story she was reading.
