The Ventura County Fairs' 5th annual Fair poster contest is now open to young artists in grades 5 - 12 who reside in Ventura County.
The fair’s permanent theme, “A Country Fair with Ocean Air” will serve as the guideline to the imagery. Artwork may be created in any medium but may not include the use of glitter, metallic paint, or 3 dimensional objects attached to the artwork. Poster designs will be judged on Theme, Originality, Composition and Skill.
If your child likes to draw, paint, collage or do some other type of 2 dimensional artwork this is for you! If you have a child or student who is artistically gifted, encourage them to work on a poster image.
Each child who enters will receive 2 Fair admission tickets and will ride with the Junior Fair Board in the 2015 Ventura County Fair Parade.
RULES
- Entries must be original two-dimensional works of art created by the entrant.
- Entries may not include clip art, copyrighted material, or any registered trademark or logo.
- No Lettering.
- Do not include the Fair name, logo or theme name in the original artwork as it will be inserted in production. All Ventura County residents in grades 5-12 are eligible to enter.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- If the entrant is under 18 as of April 1, 2015, a parent or legal guardian must sign the entry form.
- All entries must be submitted on 14”w x 17”h paper. (No newsprint) Entries received on a different size paper or in the wrong orientation (must be 14”w x 17”h) will be disqualified.
- Entrant’s name, address and phone number must be legibly written on the back of the poster.
- Entry opens Friday, February 6, 2015. Entry deadline is Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Late entries will not be accepted.
- A signed official entry form
- Entry Fee of $10.00 and make check payable to the Ventura County Fair.

DROP OFF ENTRIES TO: Ventura County Fair administration office: 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura on weekdays between the hours of 8AM and 5PM.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries, First prize: $500, Second Prize: $250, Third Prize: $100
The winning design will be used to advertise the Fair on Fair posters, souvenirs, advertisements and other applications. Second and third place winners will also be used in various applications. All contestants entries will be displayed in the Youth Expo at the Ventura County Fair.
The Ventura County Fair will begin its annual 12-day run Wednesday, August 5 and continue until Sunday, August 16.
