Grandparent's Day is this Sunday, September 13th. If you’re still looking for a gift that you can give to grandpa or grandma, we’ve got a solution that doesn’t cost much, is easy to assemble and is fun to both give and receive.
Let grandparents know how you feel about him with a “Nuts About You grandma, grandpa or grandparents” jar.
You’ll need:
- A clean, glass jar (we used a gravy jar that we removed the label from and washed/dried thoroughly
- Paint & paintbrush (any color – this is for the jar lid)
- Letter stickers (any style and color in a size that is proportional to the jar you are using)
- Filler Snack – cashews, peanuts, mixed nuts, candy, chocolate … whatever is your grandparents favorite snack.
The steps:
- If necessary, clean your jar well and remove any labels.
- Paint the lid of the jar in the color of your choice. This is mostly necessary if you are recycling a jar from a kitchen product. Let the lid dry completely.
- With your stickers or cut out letters from magazines, spell our “Nuts About You ________” on the front of the jar.
- Fill the jar with the snack filler like nuts.
Present the gift to your grandparent to let him know how crazy you are about them!
