Did you miss Circus Vargas last month when it visited Ventura? Well it is coming back! Circus Vargas will be visiting Thousand Oaks June 22 thru June 26 and we have all the details.

TICKET INFORMATION: General admission tickets are $17-$32 for children and $27-$37 for adults. Reserved Ringside seating is $52-$67 for children and $57-$72 for adults.
Make sure and go early for two reasons. If you have will call tickets the lines can be long so you want to leave extra time and second 45 minutes before the show they do a pre-show which is one of our favorite things about the Circus Vargas shows. During the pre-show on opening night they invited all the kids to come into the circus ring and then the kids were shown how to throw and catch scarves followed by all the kids doing the limbo.
This years show is called Steam Cirque and is based on a Steam Punk genre so everything has a retro-futuristic avant garde feel. They do a blend of circus acts with illusions. The illusionist did several amazing disappearing/escape acts which were absolutely breath taking. There were several performers who did aerial acts with silks and cables which were quite impressive.
The clowns were amazing, the one named Stevie had a “woot-woot” thing going which the audience played along with and became a recurring theme all night. A few times during the night they grabbed members of the audience to do bits with the clowns. These were hilarious. My daughter’s friend who joined us this year for the first time said her favorite part was the motorcycles in the steel ball. The Trampoline Wall was also a hit as they jumped on a trampoline and did tricks off the wall and we always loves the trapeze artists as well.
After the show, the performers meet you on the way out to say “Hi” or take any photographs you desire. We all had a blast. It was a fun time for the whole family and I definitely think you should go see it.

THE STORY: An eccentric group of adventure seekers stumble upon a traveling circus in an imaginary Victorian city, far, far-away. SteamCirque’s peculiar protagonist, part magician- part inventor, attempts to industrialize the circus by incorporating his steam powered mechanical contraptions into the ordinary, typical circus rigging, filling the big top with new, imaginative acrobatic apparatus for the artists to perform their acts.
