Halloween weekend at the Channel Islands Harbor is sure to be howling with the introduction of the inaugural “Parade of Frights.”
The Parade of Frights, a non-competitive, Halloween-themed boat parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. on October 29, 2022. Interested boaters can register by downloading this form.
Prior to the Parade of Frights, a variety of organizations and businesses will be offering Halloween-related events and activities, with no shortage of free candy for youth.
Expanded Farmers’ Market
The Channel Islands Farmers’ Market will be offering an expanded market from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Harbor View Park, located just south of Marine Emporium Landing at 3600 Harbor Blvd. Oxnard, CA 93035. At the expanded market, the Ventura County Harbor Department will provide reusable Parade of Frights bags to children, each vendor will hand out candy, there will be a costume contest and a costume parade. In addition, there will be an inflatable jump zone. Families can buy bracelets for children for unlimited jumping!
Channel Islands Maritime Museum Scavenger Hunt
The Channel Islands Maritime Museum will be offering the “Spooky Maritime Scavenger Hunt.” The scavenger hunt will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Maritime Museum, located at 3900 Bluefin Circle Drive Oxnard, CA 93035. The scavenger hunt includes a journey into maritime mysteries, ghost ships, and more! Candy will be handed out to attendees and costume-wearing is welcome!
