SAVE THE DATE: "CELEBRATING CHILDREN'S DAY" ON MARCH 26

Kicks Off April's Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Save the date for Oxnard's National Association Against Child Cruelty (NAACC) 3rd Annual Celebrating Children’s Day on March 26, 2016 at Plaza Park in Oxnard from 12 noon to 4p.m., to kick-off April's Child Abuse Awareness Month.  

This year will be even bigger with the expansion to Centennial Plaza, across from Plaza Park, with entertainment at both venues. The event is free to participants and the public and is for and about children.

The event will feature local community resource tables, activity booths for the children. Gold Coast Ambulance will be there for the 3rd year providing CPR training. New York Life will provide free children ID’s, along with the Oxnard PD.

There will be jolly jumpers, a pirate ship, face painting, train rides or take your child’s photo with a cartoon characters and other fun filled activities.  Entertainment features the dynamic duo KNS Rockstar who will perform on the stage at Plaza Park along with Donna Marshall-vocalist, and O My Theater.

The National Association Against Child Cruelty is a 501 (c) 3 organization (EIN# 27-3649226), which was founded locally in Oxnard approximately 7 years ago.  Their mission is dedicated to raising the public’s awareness of the nationwide problem of abuse and neglect facing our children. Five million children are abused and neglected each year (approximately 12,000 to 15,000 in Ventura County alone) and approximately 2,500 children die from abuse and neglect.
