STAY COOL THIS SUMMER IN VENTURA COUNTY

Open to the Public: Splash Pads ~ Fountains ~ Pools ~ Beaches

This summer you and the kid's need to stay cool and in Ventura County we have some great options to stay cool and get wet all summer long.

POOLS (Open to the Public, no membership required)
Camarillo
The Pleasant Valley Aquatic Center offers an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor splash zone geared to kids, teens and adults. The pool is open for recreational swim Monday through Sunday from 1pm to 4pm starting on June 13 thru August 20th. The pool charges $3 for ages 4+, free to ages 3 and under and $2.50 ages 60+ and military.

Oxnard/Pt Hueneme
Oxnard Union High School District offers a wide variety of summer aquatic activities for the public. Two aquatic venues, Oxnard Aquatic Center & the NEWLY renovated Hueneme HS pool, will be open this summer offering swim lessons, lap swim, and open swim. No dates are listed but swim classes run June 20 thru August 12th.

The Oxnard Aquatic Center is a spectacular 50 meter x 25 yard Olympic Pool. The aquatics center has 3 diving platforms, 2 one-meter and a three-meter diving boards. Sw

The newest of our two venues, the Hueneme High School pool, has a Learn to Swim Program for all ages. All of our summer programs and staff are Red Cross certified. Wheelchair accessible and equipped with a hydraulic lift.
  • The Oxnard Aquatic Center is located at Oxnard High School, 3400 W. Gonzales Road and the Hueneme High School Pool is at 500 W. Bard Road. 
  • Summer Recreation Swim is 11 AM-1:45PM at both Oxnard & Hueneme pools Monday – Friday and offers lap swimming, diving boards, and open swim.
  • Fees are $4 per session per person.

Ventura
Ventura Community Park Aquatics Center has a beautiful state of the art aquatic facility featuring a 50 meter competition pool, 25 meter recreation pool, activity pool, and two water slides! 
  • The pool is open daily from June 13 thru August 21 and then on weekends thru September 4, 2016. But closed  on June 16, 17, 18 & 19 and open 11am to 4pm on July 4th.
  • Open Swim Hours are Monday, Weds, from noon to 4pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm, Fridays from noon to 4pm for open swim, and then 7pm to 9pm for Splash Events (6/24-8/19), Weekends on both Saturday and Sunday from 11:30am until 4pm.
  • Open swim is free for ages 2 and under, $3 ages 2 to 5 and seniors and $5 for ages 6 to 61. Splash events are $5 pp for ages 3+.

Fillmore

The Fillmore Aquatic Center is located at 575 1st Street and is now open Monday thru Saturday for the summer season through September 5, 2016.
  • Recreational swimming is Monday through Saturday from Noon-4pm with Family Nights Fridays from 6:30-8:00pm.
  • The cost is $2/person per visit

Ojai
The Ojai Recreation Department has public recreational swimming at Villanova Preparatory School, 12096 North Ventura Avenue in Ojai starting on June 15 thru July 23, 2016, Monday thru Thursday and Saturdays. 
  • Hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00-9:00am & 11:45am-3:00pm AND Saturday noon until 4:00pm
  • Daily Swim Entry is $5/person entering the water

Thousand Oaks/Newbury Park 
Conejo Recreation & Park District Summer Pools includes 3 pools, one at CLU, another in Thousand Oaks and another in Newbury Park at the high schools. Summer season starts June 13, 2016. To see each pools address, fees and specific hours CLICK HERE

Simi Valley
Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District offers a large community swimming pool at Rancho Simi Community Park, 1765 Royal Avenue. the pool is open 7 days a week with summer hours starting on June 6 from 1-4PM every day. Admission for ages 3+ is $3 per person.

SPLASH PADS!!!
As the days warm up and the days get longer, kids in Ventura County get HOT!!! Some of the best and free ways to stay cool in the summer are at local parks where Splash Pads keep kids cool while having fun.
  • SIMI VALLEY - Splash Pad at Rancho Tapo Community Park also called Lemon Park. The free Splash Pad play area which is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 7 days a week. Hours: 11am-2:30pm and 3:30pm-7pm (closed 2:30pm-3:30pm for maintenance).
  • AGOURA/OAK PARK - The Oak Canyon Community Park, is located at 5600 Hollytree Drive Oak Park, CA 91377, near Agoura. The Children's Splash Pad/water play area is open from the Saturday of the Memorial Day weekend until the end of September (September 30th), from 10:00am to 7:00pm.
NOTE: The water is on a timer that needs to be activated by the user in order for water to come out. Once activated the water will cycle through each play feature and then automatically shut off.

FOUNTAINS!
Other ways to stay cool is with fountains where kids can splash, have fun and get wet with friends. These are in local malls and are open 365 days a year, according to the shopping centers hours.
  • Janss Mall in Thousand Oaks. The Janss Marketplace is located at 275 North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks (corner of Moorpark Road and Hillcrest), by Baby Depot. Open 365 days a year.
  • The Collection in Riverpark Pop Jet Fountain is on Town Center Drive in front of the Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar and adjacent to Larsen's Grill.

Marina Park - (South end of Pierpont Boulevard) is 15 acres of beachfront fun located next to the Ventura Harbor. Colorful sailboats can be seen from pathways and lookout points as they leave the harbor while windsurfers slice across the ocean and children climb aboard the play ship San Salvador. Sailing lessons are offered nearby (with advance reservations) and anglers may drop a line from the park’s fishing dock. Individual picnic/barbecue facilities, sand volleyball court, a hand-launch boat dock, children’s play area and restrooms can also be found at the park
