OXNARD PUBLIC LIBRARY READING PROGRAM

Summer Reading Program and Events Start June 13 thru August 13

By Updated 6/1/2016 May 24, 2010
The Oxnard Public Library's Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 13th and runs until August 13th.

Children and teens of all ages (even babies!) are welcome to participate.

Pick up a reading log at any of our three branches and every time a child reads or is read to they can get raffle tickets for a weekly prize and work toward getting larger prizes.

The Summer Reading Program has two components: a reading log, and fun summer events. Reading logs can be picked up any time after Monday the 13th and children can mark any time they read or are read to by a parent or caregiver, either in the library or at home to get raffle tickets or other fun prizes.

The summer reading events vary by branch.
  • The Main Library will be kicking off their summer reading events with a comedy magic show by Jersey Jim at 1pm on Monday, June 20th
  • The South Oxnard Branch Library will kick off their events with a screening of Kung Fu Panda 3 at 3pm on Wednesday, June 22
  • The Colonia Library is kicking off their program with a kite making craft program at 3:30pm on Thursday June 16

There will also be special events at all three locations for students who will be entering 7th grade through high school. They will also use the reading log and can win prizes appropriate to their age group.

In July, adults will be able to take part in their own Summer Reading Program at the Main Library.
