JOIN THE GREAT CLOTH DIAPER CHANGE EVENT ON 4/21

Help Break The Record in Camarillo

By Sharon Rosenthal, www.camarillo.macaronikid.com April 15, 2012
Join The Cloth Diaper Circle for Ventura County and SandboxLane.com on April 21st, 2012 in Camarillo as they attempt to break the world record for the most cloth diapers changed at one time.

This world record attempt is a great way to show the world how many people are already choosing and using reusable cloth diapers successfully. There will be a limited number of cloth diapers available to borrow if families that currently use disposables would like to participate.

The event will take place at 8:30AM followed with fun family friendly activities until noon at the Freedom Park Center Building, 515 Eubanks, Camarillo, CA. In addition to the Great Cloth Diaper Change world-recording setting activity, there will be giveaways to participants, limited child care during the official change for single mothers who would like to participate, sponsor tables with children’s products, a cloth diaper swap, and a free Kindermusik class with Ms. Katie.

HOW IT WORKS
  • For this record, each baby must be changed from a cloth or disposable diaper into a reusable cloth diaper that must a commercially available cloth diaper. That means available for purchase online or in a store. Unfortunately, homemade diapers that are not commercially available cannot be used. This is a very strict rule from Guinness World Records (TM).
  • All Babies and toddlers must be 39 inches or shorter.
  • Please bring $1 (or more) as a donation to the Real Diaper Association, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the word about reusable cloth diapers.
  • Per Guinness rules, those changing a baby must be 18 years or older and may only change one baby for the event (those with 2 or more in diapers must have one adult for each baby). Young parents (under 18) are welcome to join in all the activities but will not count toward the actual world record.
In its second year with over 300 sites in 13 countries, The Great Cloth Diaper Change event will attempt to break last year’s Guinness World Record of 5,026 cloth diapers changed simultaneously.
Last year’s local Great Cloth Diaper Change event was hosted in Ventura and had 33 participants.
