PIRATE DAYS THIS WEEKEND AT THE VENTURA HARBOR

Hide yer gold and hide yer doubloons, as pirates seek out treasures at the Ventura Aarghbor (Harbor) Village on Saturday & Sunday, July 21 & 22 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Now in its 7th year, Ventura Harbor Pirate Days invokes the lure of the sea and adventurous pirates as the popularity of the festival continues with this year's theme "Seek Ye Treasure."

Pirates Marketplace & Encampment

• 10-5 pm Port Royale Privateers Historical Encampment
• 1-4 pm Pirates for Hire Professional Sword Fighting and Pirate Shows
• 1-4pm Macaroni Kid Camarillo-Oxnard-Ventura Kids Crafts
• 2:30 pm Kids Pirate Costume Contest for a chance to win a Disneyland Ticket (Kids 0-7) & (8-15)
• 3:30 pm Adult Pirate Costume Contest

Shipweck Cove

• Noon-5 Hourly Arrgh-bor Boat Tour at Ventura Boat Rentals
• 1-4 pm Live Music, Nautical Knot Tying, Pirate Lore, Photos with Pirates, Kids Treasure Room ($2)
• 1-4pm Macaroni Kid Camarillo-Oxnard-Ventura Kids Crafts
• 3 pm Pet Pirate Costume Contest (Saturday Only)
• 4 pm Announcement of Winners of the $100 GOLD COINS

Swashbuckling Fun for all ages Pirate Days is a free event that is filled with Piratey Kid's Crafts, Inflatables, Village Shop & Restaurant Specials, Pirate Pony Rides, Face Painting, Glitter Tattoos, Pirate Vendors and Tall Ship Dockside Tours (small donation).

Shipwreck Cove comes to life with strolling musicians, nautical knot tying, Tall Ship Bill of Rights dockside tours, Aarghbor Boat Tours, photos with pirates, an enchanted treasure room for kids, and a whimsical Pet Pirate Costume Contest held on Saturday July 21 at 3:00 PM in which a pirate puppy currently claims the reign. Plus catch the Ventura Harbor Water Taxi from Marina Park, kids ride FREE round-trip (from Marina Park) Pirate Day weekend July 21 - 22 only.

Pirate Days offers free family entertainment, while audiences are captivated by such famous pirate re-enactors as Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook and their crews of scallywags walking along the Harbor's promenade.
 
The Port Royal Privateers historical encampment joins the event this year offering a closer look at the pirates relaxing on shore after successful adventures. Pirate's Cove Marketplace abounds with precious wares and Pirates for Hire crew engages the crowds with daily pirate kid and adult costume contests for a coveted Disneyland ticket.

Festival goers seek out treasures to take home as Village shops feature pirate merchandise, pirate hats, swords, gifts, eye patches, flags, & gear. Purchases of $20 or more at participating Ventura Harbor Village boutique stores enters buyers for a chance to win $100 in gold dollar coins. Village galleries bustle with free activities for wee ones and for grog and grub, the Village restaurants offer a variety of cuisine and live entertainment.
 
The festivities continue on the water with the Bill of Rights Tall Ship Sail from 4 - 7 PM out of Ventura Harbor and a Pirate Dinner Cruise along with live music by Ship of Fools and dinner with Island Packers at 7 PM around the Ventura Harbor.

Admission, parking and shuttle buses are free. Pirate Days shuttle parking is located at Schooner Drive and Harbor Blvd. or Schooner Drive and Anchors Way Drive both Saturday and Sunday from Noon - 5:00 PM. The Ventura Harbor Village is located 1583 Spinnaker Drive off of Harbor Blvd.
