JULY IS NATIONAL PARKS & RECREATION MONTH

Go Outside, Get Involved & Celebrate Ventura’s Parks & Recreation Month this July

Since 1985, the United States has celebrated July as National Parks and Recreation month. To celebrate, the City of Ventura is encouraging all community members to “Come & Play the Ventura Way” and GET WILD about our wonderful park and recreation activities!

HERE ARE SOME ACTIVITIES HAPPENING IN VENTURA THIS LAST WEEK OF JULY
  • The Ventura Aquatic Center, 901 S. Kimball Rd., is featuring its very popular “Slide & Dive” ($3-5, 11:30-3:30 pm) on 7/28.
  • Try something new! There are free golf clinics (7/28 at 1 pm) at Ventura Community Parks.
AND THE GRAND FINALE TO PARKS & RECREATION MONTH
  • Saturday, July 28, is a day full of free events at the Ventura Community Park, 901 S. Kimball Rd.
  • From 9 to 11 am, help with a service project 9-11 am (reward: an ice cream social). Click HERE for more information and to sign up.
  • “Touch a Truck”, with Parks Division big equipment on display. 
  • “Long Ball Contest” 11 am-12 pm
  • "Flash mob” performance at 11:15am of our city’s National Day Of Dance team
  • “Slide & Dive” ($3-5, 11:30-3:30 pm)
  • SNAG (Starting New at Golf) demo 1-3 pm.
