In recognition of National Night Out this month, the Camarillo Police and Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are hosting an Open House this Saturday, August 18th from noon to 4 p.m at the Camarillo Police Department located at 3701 E. Las Posas Road. The event is free to residents and the community.
Bring the kids and enjoy numerous displays from the Camarillo Police Department’s resources and other law enforcement related equipment and technology. McGruff, the Crime Fighting Dog, will greet kids and their parents. Representatives for the Camarillo Police Department will conduct guided tours of the facility throughout the afternoon.
Games and activities for children will also be available, including “Kid Print” fingerprint ID for children. Visitors will enjoy demonstrations by a K-9 deputy and dog, mounted patrol, SWAT team members, bomb disposal vehicle and robot, search and rescue unit, patrol and traffic units, DART team, youth services, neighborhood watch, citizen patrol, and the Camarillo Police mobile command post.
The National Night Out program is an annual one-of-a-kind neighborhood outreach that brings neighbors and residents together in support of safer communities. NNO is celebrated in more than 13,000 neighborhoods across the country.
