The Camarillo Old Town MusicFest event  in Old Town at 2222 E. Ventura Blvd, the former old Los Primeros school site, is almost here. The event runs from 3pm to 10pm on Saturday September 22nd and features R&B legend and master percussionist Sheila E and her brothers.

You can buy your tickets to the festival ONLINE or purchase student discount/group discount tickets locally around town at various city locations, found HERE. Tickets are $25.00 per person if purchased in advance, and $30.00 at the door. For the first time in the event history, all active military personnel will be admitted for free festival seating upon presenting valid military identification.

The Old Town MusicFest event seeks to raise funds for arts and music educational programs for Camarillo elementary schools and to promote tourism in Camarillo's Old Town area. Camarillo's Old Town MusicFest is a fun and an arts-oriented affair being conducted in partnership with the Pleasant Valley School District, the Camarillo Chamber of Commerce, and the Studio Channel Islands Art Center

This year Tom and Sandy of the "Tom and Sandy 805" KVTA 1520 radio show will be the special MC's for the festival. Come out and personally meet the voices of "Tom and Sandy 805" radio show at this event. In addition to an outstanding entertainment lineup, the event will feature a wine garden, beer garden, gourmet food trucks, inspiring art exhibits and a business expo. You don't want to miss this festival. All under the stars, in Camarillo's historic Old Town.

Alastair Greene will be the opening performer for the festival at 3:30pm. Alastair is best known for his blues-based, soulful, and melodic guitar playing (as well as one of a rare-breed to play slide guitar), Alastair can be heard on CDs by Alan Parsons (2006 Grammy Nominated ‘A Valid Path’); Aynsley Dunbar (2008 SPV Records release ‘Mutiny’); Blues singer, harmonica legend, and former member of WAR, Mitch Kashmar (2005 ‘Wake Up and Worry’ on Delta Groove Records), as well as French Blues Guitarist Franck Golwasser’s 2007 release ‘Bluju.’ Alastair has put out 5 of his own CDs and has also appeared on countless independent CD releases ranging from Blues to Southern Rock. Alastair's song 'The Long Way Home' appeared in a 2007 episode of the TNT hit TV series 'Saving Grace'. Currently he is nominated for the best blues performer in Ventura County.

In addition to the E Family, the event will feature  2011 “American Idol” semifinalist and recording artist Kendra Chantelle, who will open the event at 6pm, with her amazing band, from Nashville, TN who will display their superb musical talents for attendees.

She will be followed by The E Family, Sheila E, The J and Peter Michael Escovedo at 8pm. Sheila E. became one of the top female musicians during the 1980s due to her fierce drumming style and her Latin rhythms. A former protégé of Prince, Sheila became a drummer in his band before branching off into solo musical projects. In addition to being considered the best female drummer alive, she performs with Ringo Star's All Star Band.

In addition to outstanding musical performances, Old Town MusicFest attendees will also experience exhibitions of world-class art and photography; a wine tasting extravaganza showcasing a diverse range of vintages from prominent local wineries; a beer garden featuring locally-produced ales and pilsners; and a gastronomic collection of well-known food trucks.
