Roasted pumpkin seeds can be a great way to eat a healthy snack at any time.  Whether you’re at the office in need of an energy boost, or just looking for a healthy alternative to your kids, few things compare.  Roasted pumpkin seeds are extremely nutritious, and provide many different beneficial minerals and nutrients that most people don’t always get enough of daily.  They are also a low calorie food, so they can be a great way of providing a healthy snack, without having to break your diet.  With all the great and tasty applications you’ll find, the only problem you’ll have is choosing the one you like best.

Roasted pumpkin seeds are such a fantastic nutritious snack because they provide a lot of necessary nutrients that most people don’t necessarily receive in the quantities that they should.  The great benefits include healthy lean protein, and essential minerals like zinc, iron, copper and magnesium.

Preparation Directions:

  1. Extract seeds from pumpkin.
  2. Separate and discard pulp.
  3. Thoroughly wash seeds in warm water and dry them.
  4. Spread seeds out onto a cookie sheet.
  5. Sprinkle generously with salt.
  6. Put into oven and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
  7. Check every five minutes and stir, adding more salt or to taste.
  8. Check seeds to see if they are done by taking a sample out, allowing to cool and tasting. If the insides are dry, they are done.
  9. Allow to cool and serve.
