Ventura County Kids in grades 5 - 12! Do you like to draw, sketch, paint, collage, color or design? Enter the 2013 Ventura County Fair Poster Contest! It's fun and you can win cash prizes and Fair tickets. Entries will start being accepted on Feburary 1st and the deadline to enter is April 1st.
The theme for the 2013 Ventura County Fair is “Boots, Barns and Banjos”. Winning posters will artistically and colorfully communicate this theme and promote the Ventura County Fair. Entries must be original two-dimensional works of art created by the entrant. Entries may not include clip art,
copyrighted material, or any registered trademark or logo.
If you have a child or student who is artistically gifted, encourage them to work on a poster image. Each child who enters will receive 2 Fair admission tickets and will ride with the Junior Fair Board in the 2013 Ventura County Fair Parade. It’s fun! It’s easy and it’s a gift to the community.
This is a great opportunity for you to use your imagination and begin to enjoy the fun of the Fair early in the year. If you like to draw, paint, collage or do some other type of 2 dimensional artwork this isfor you. You can use paint, crayon, chalk, pastels, pen & ink, collage or your favorite medium! (No 3-d and no glitter please!)

HOW TO ENTER
- Entry opens Friday, February 1, 2013.
- Entry deadline is Monday, April 1, 2013.
- Late entries will not be accepted.
- On Friday, April 12, 2013 - A panel of 5 independent jurors will select the winners.
- There is a $10.00 entry fee. (Make check payable to the Ventura County Fair).

- All entries must be submitted on 14”w x 17”h paper. (No newsprint)
- Entries received on a different size paper or in the wrong orientation (must be 14”w x 17”h) will be disqualified.
- Entrant’s name, address and phone number must be legibly written on the back of the poster.
- BY MAIL - Shipped entries must be sent to: Poster Contest, Ventura County Fair, 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura, CA 93001. Mailed entries must be postmarked no later than April 1, 2013.
- IN PERSON - Entries may be hand carried to the Ventura County Fair administration office: 10 West Harbor Blvd., Ventura on weekdays between the hours of 8AM and 5PM.
RULES
- No Lettering.
- Do not include the Fair name, logo or theme name in the original artwork as it will be inserted in production.
- All Ventura County residents in grades 5-12 are eligible to enter.
- Only one entry per person will be accepted.
- If the entrant is under 18 as of April 1, 2013, a parent or legal guardian must sign the entry form.
- Retention of ownership and rights: Ventura County Fair will retain ownership of and all rights to submitted artwork. Ventura County Fair may or may not use these posters in conjunction with the 2013 or subsequent Ventura County Fair promotional campaign(s). The original posters may be auctioned at a Ventura County Fair Gala. Proceeds of the auction will go to the Ventura County Fair Foundation. The Ventura County Fair Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
- Exhibit of winning posters: The six finalist posters will be exhibited at the 2013 Ventura County Fair. After the close of the Fair, winning posters that have been auctioned will be delivered to the buyers.
PRIZES
- All valid entries will receive a Ventura County Fair participation ribbon and two admission tickets to the 2013 Ventura County Fair.
- Awards: 1st Place $500, 2nd Place $250, 3rd Place $100
