FOOD Share Ventura County is our local food bank that distributies millions of pounds of food each year to those in need throughout Ventura County. FOOD Share collects and receives food year-round, distributing through more than 150 pantry partner agencies throughout Ventura County, including Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Oak View, Ojai, Oxnard, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Somis, Thousand Oaks, and Ventura.
This year they have a new food raising program that ends on Feburary 3rd and so far they have raised 197,466 lbs. of donated food! The goal of this program is to collect 200,000 lbs. of food by Feb 3. If you’re planning on hosting or attending a Super Bowl party this year, you can help FOOD Share reach their goal and collect canned goods at your party to send Tackle Hunger off with a touchdown! To pick up a yellow barrel or two, please contact Karen Jensen at (805)983-7100 ext. 135.
In addition if you have a group or team, FOODS Share is offering tours or if you want to help sort and box non-perishable food, please contact Meg Horton, the Volunteer Coordinator, at 983-7100 x 105.

Ventura County Wine Trail Local Food & Wine Challenge
Thursday, Jan. 24; 6:00pm-8:30pm @Embassy Suites Hotel in Oxnard
12 teams of wineries and restaurants all pairing dishes with wines for everyone to taste. There will be judging and awards for the best pairing of food items and wine selection. Come join us for this fun culinary concert, featuring decadent food and wine pairings, champagne reception, live music and more! 10% of proceeds to benefit FOOD Share. Tickets are $60.

Ground Operations Movie Screening

FOOD Share & Kaiser Permanente are teaming up for an event featuring veterans in agriculture. The new documentary film, Ground Operations: From Battlefields to Farmfields, will be shown and A.G. Kawamura, former CA Secretary of Agriculture, will be the guest speaker. 50% of ticket sales to benefit FOOD Share. Tickets are $30.
