JUNIOR EXPLORER PROGRAM AT LAKE CASITAS

FREE Program Starts on June 15 at Lake Casitas Recreation Area

The 2013 Junior Explorer Program begins this weekend on June 15 and 16 for kids who want to become a Lake Casitas Recreation Area Jr. Explorer!  Keep reading for the information on all the summer sessions this year.

The Jr. Explorer program will provide youths ages 8 to 12 with informative activities to earn their patch during camping visits at Lake Casitas.

Want to know what lives in the dark deep waters of Lake Casitas? Do you know the name of the big blue birds you see? Do we really have bears and mountain lions here? Find out by becoming a Lake Casitas Jr. Explorer!

Earn your official Jr. Explorer patch by attending a two-day workshop, and completing the workbook this summer.

SESSION DATES & TOPICS
Saturday June 15, 9 - 11 am Picnic #1
"Bees and Butterflies" 
Learn all about bees from our bee expert Bill Weinerth. Mr. Weinerth has fifty years' experience in keeping bees and will discuss the importance of bees, why bees swarm, what to do if you encounter a swarm and more! He will also discuss our local butterflies with a special focus on our beautiful Monarchs!
