This week Macaroni Kid Camarillo-Oxnard-Ventura and my kids had an opportunity to check out Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure, produced by Feld Entertainment, at the Long Beach Terrace theatre. This show will also be playing this week in Hollywood, September 27 to the 29th.

Ten minutes before each show Doc McStuffins comes out to “warm up” the crowd. This really excited my daughters who are big fans of Doc McStuffins.
The show starts with Mickey and Minnie in the beginning and end of each act which is always a treat. The first act featured Sofia the First which the kids loved. The songs she sang were catchy and her performance was a lot of fun. As anybody who has seen the show knows, Sofia’s Amulet often brings famous Disney Princesses to her aid. This one featured Cinderella which delighted my daughters.
Most impressively in the climax of the show Sofia grows huge and purple bubbles are released from the ceiling. This really impressed the girls.

The second half of the show was Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Once again there was a surprise appearance by a famous Disney character. This time it was Peter Pan and a floating light on the screen which represented Tinkerbell.
There were many nice effects, for example many of the characters flew through the air and at the end a treasure volcano erupted spewing gold confetti into the audience.

We thoroughly enjoyed the show and would highly recommend it. It was well worth the 90 minute drive each way to Long Beach to see the show. You can catch the show this weekend on September 27, 28th and 29th in Hollywood.
