For the 2014 Summer season, Camp Helping Hands (CHH) Summer Camps, are offering kids age 6-14 a summer camp at Cal Lutheran University (CLU) and NEW this summer, a summer camp location at California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI).
Each three week summer program has a theme, and each week of programming supports that theme. The CHH summer camp at CSUCI will run from June 16 through July 3 with the theme, "Living: Our Place in the World". The CLU based summer camp will run from July 14 through August 1 with the theme Kid Heroes. Both camps run from 9am to 3pm Monday thru Friday with extended care options for early drop off and late pick up.
Most campers sign up for the three-week program which provides fun and educational service-learning opportunities within several different segments of their local community. Participants who sign up for the three- week package receive a bulk-rate discount when registering. Campers can also sign up for one and two-week options, though three week options are recommended to get the full benefit of the program.

CHH summer camps provide a fun and safe place where your child can enjoy sports activities, games, swimming, arts and crafts, music, and more while also helping the local community and learning about the different themes.

The real mission behind CHH is showing kids how they can make a difference and have fun doing it. Through engaging inquiry-based lessons and weekly service field trip expeditions, our campers learn leadership skills, develop compassion, and grow confident as they address real-world problems by taking action in their community.
Ages
CHH is geared to kids age 6-14 . Each group contains 15 to 17 campers and is led by three counselors who guide them through age-appropriate activities.
CHH places campers according to age into four age groups:
- Junior Helpers (6 and 7)
- Young Advocates (8 and 9)
- Super Agents (10 and 11)
- Chief Aides (12 and 13) - Chief Aides, the oldest age group, are Counselor-in-Training (CIT's).
Dates & Locations
- California State University Channel Islands (1 university Drive, Camarillo, CA) and runs from June 16 - July 3, 2014.
- California Lutheran University (60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, CA) and runs from July 14 - August 1, 2014.
Rates
- Three-week packages vary from $750 to $795 and $375 and $395 depending on camper's age and camp location.
- One and two week rates vary as well.
- Additional fees apply for the optional swim program.
