Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard Port Hueneme Camps

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme offers some fun themed day camps and sports camps for kids entering 1st grade and up. The day camps run Monday thru Friday from 7am to 2pm and sports camps run 10am to 2pm, with an option to stay until 6pm and play at no additional cost. 



Registration:

  • Registration for summer day camps begins April 14, a $25 dollar non-refundable deposit is required.
  • For each week to reserve your child’s spot, the balance can be paid the first day of camp.
  • Day camp fees are $90 per child with a multi-child enrollment discount–$85 fee for each additional child.
  • Please register early, camps will fill up and t-shirts are only guaranteed for those that register before the deadline.

Description of Day Camps
A Bugs Life (One Day Camp, June 20)
Bugs life aims to help our members see insects for the miniature marvels they represent. Members will check out amazing designs on different butterfly wings, explore some fantastic close-up range of interesting insects.  Members will explore the transformation of a butterfly’s life, explore Bug Bios and research some really fun facts about rare bugs.  

Moovin’ and Groovin’ Week (Monday-Friday June 23-27)
Campers come get your groove on. We will learn all different types of movement activities to keep us healthy and strong. We will participate in stomp, play in a drum circle, have a fun filled hoe down and much more. Campers will also learn about healthy eating and the importance of staying active. 

Treasure Hunters (Monday-Friday June 30-July 3 & Closed July 4th) 
Ahoy matey! This week we are going treasure hunting. There is treasure in these parts and it’s up to you to find it! Whether you are seeking gold or gems or hidden collections, looking for treasure is just as much fun as finding it. There are many ways to find treasure. You can dig in our mines for rare gems and metals. You can find hidden exploration tokens all throughout the land. We will Geo Cache for fun treasures on a field trip. Whatever you seek, this is the week to do it. You’ll find the treasure you seek!

Survivor week (Monday-Friday July 7-11)
Who will be the team left standing after a week of challenges? Campers will team up for a week of challenges, adventures, and working together. Campers will spend the week in teams participating in survivor-like challenges that test their ability to work together and think on their feet. Challenges may include an obstacle course, sack races and a ropes course. Campers may be divided into groups by age. This will conclude with a giant outdoor BBQ and water fun! 

Under the Big Top (Monday-Friday July 14-18)
Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, children of all ages. Step right up to the big top where we will clown around and learn the tricks of the ringmaster and his crew of clowns, comedians, animals, acrobats and more. Campers will go on a field trip and we will have an exciting, magical carnival for all ages.

Paradise Under the Sea (Monday-Friday July 21-25)
Just how big are our oceans? What lives in them?  Come to this enchanting discovery camp to learn all about ocean life.  Our planet’s oceans are truly amazing. We will visit the sea center and the beach on a field trip.

Artist Antics (Monday-Friday July 28-August 1)
My masterpiece art is perfect for your budding Picasso. Each day focuses on a new mixed media, such as sculpture, collage, or painting. Members will be introduced to an artist and learn mini-lessons to design their own cartoon or comic strip superheroes characters. Field trip to art museum included.

Game Show Mania (Monday-Friday August 4-8)
Let’s Make a Deal, Family Feud, Nickelodeon’s Double Dare, Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader and Minute to Win It! This is a week filled with Game show challenges.  Members will be divided into teams and will represent their favorite TV Games Show. 

Space is the Place (Monday-Friday August 11-15)
Want a camp experience that will rocket your world? Rocket into the solar system in the adventurous camp! Campers will learn about our awesome solar system through hands-on activities. Campers learn how stars twinkle, and make and eat moon rocks in the exploratory camp. We will also blast off to a field trip to a museum.

Wet and Wild Days (Monday-Friday August 18-22)
Is there anything better than a water slide on a hot day?  Members will participate in some really fun action-packed water games designed to soak everyone. Members will take the cool water obstacle course, play the water balloon target game, and hit the water balloon piñata.  At the end of the week we will have a Wet and Wild end of summer water slide celebration.

Sports Camps for Champs! (Monday - Friday, 10am – 2pm, Grades 3–8)
Sports Camps for Champs are co-ed sports camps that focus on teaching good sportsmanship and teamwork within a fun and noncompetitive environment. Our sports camps emphasize the fundamentals and the basic skills necessary to play the game.
