Saturday, June 14th from 10am to 4pm is History Day at the Strathearn Historical Park & Museum in Simi Valley. The park is located at 137 Strathearn Place (behind the new Target store on Tierra Rejada).
The event includes scavenger hunts and crafts for kids, a Vaquero performing precision movements with his horse and living history reenactments. Wander around the 6 acre park to check out antique cars, vintage tractors, and farm equipment, plus all historic buildings will be open for self-guided tours, with docents on hand to answer questions.

History will come to life at the old Saint Rose of Lima Church with a performance by Father Serra recreating the Mission Era in Simi Valley. Another humorous demonstration strips away the mystery of all those layers of women’s clothing during Victorian times.
Throughout the day there will be ongoing activities, displays and demonstrations to engage men, women and children: California Vaquero and his horse, Señora, will demonstrate coordinated routines, Blacksmith horseshoeing, amateur radio demonstrations, vendors and a kid’s craft corner will provide hands-on projects.
Food will be available for purchase from the Kiwanis ChucK Wagon and Tutu’s Shave Ice.
All performances and activities are included in the entrance price of $7 for anyone over age 5. Entrance is free to our active military and dependents with military ID.
