9TH ANNUAL BOYS & GIRLS CLUB DAY FOR KIDS IS SATURDAY

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme Host the FREE Event For Kids

On Saturday, September 20th from 11am to 4pm the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme will host its 9th annual “Day for Kids” family event on the grounds at the Martin V. Smith Youth Center, 1900 West 5th Street, Oxnard.

This FREE event and day celebrates children as the future of our society and encourages families to spend quality time together. There is no cost to attend and all the fun activities are provided for free. Yes, everything is free from pony rides to Face Painting and Macaroni Kid will also be hosting a booth all day at the event. 

The Day for Kids event,  engages the community, local businesses and service agencies as they host booths and provide resources for youth and their families. “Day for Kids” encourages positive interaction with kids and their families through fun, play, mentoring and enrichment activities.

The free event boasts a family-fun atmosphere, with games, prizes, face painting, jolly jumpers, a rock wall, a petting zoo, Gamez on Wheelz and pony rides, along with great food. There will be live stage entertainment, including the Voices of Hope Choir and a reptile show put on by the Reptile Family, Kealoha and Company will perform a Polynesian Floor Show and a cultural performance by the RMHS Folklorico. The Stars of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood will debut their live performance showcasing their top talent, and an exciting afternoon of Pro-wrestling.

There will also be information booths where families can get information about services provided within the community and BGCOP will be providing free new memberships.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of America created the annual event in 2005 to strengthen relationships between positive adults and kids by educating them on the importance of spending meaningful time together.
