It’s been 25 years since the Ventura Family YMCA’s pool has been open and it’s time to celebrate!  Join the Y for a half day of fun on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 1PM to 9PM as the Y rededicates the pool and celebrates.

RSVP FOR THE FACEBOOK EVENT

The entire community is invited to the Ventura Y to celebrate and try the Y for the day, see enjoyable photographs from the Y’s past, and learn about swimming outreach programs.  The days schedule also features open swim hours and presentations, including synchronized swimming and the Dolphin Swim Team practice.  There will also be Bubble Rollers!  Kids who 125 pounds or less are able to climb inside a giant rubber ball and float on top of the water!

Schedule of Events:
  • NOON-1PM: Rededication and Reception
  • 1PM-3PM: Community Open Swim
  • 3:30PM-4PM: Synchronized Swimming Presentation
  • 4PM-5PM: Bubble Rollers for kids
  • 5:15PM-6:15PM: Gentle W.E.T Class in the Therapy Pool and the Dolphin Swim Team Practice in the Lap Pool
  • 5:30PM-6:30PM: Aqua Boot Camp Class
The Y is honoring at this event, Bud and Jane Oltmans, who in 1989 led the way in launching the Ventura Y’s first capital endeavor at its current Telegraph location. This was made possible through the support of other generous donors who helped build the Ventura Y’s indoor aquatics center featuring a 25 yard, 5 lane, lap pool and a 40 foot warm water therapeutic pool.  Today, more than 6,500 lessons are taught each year and more than 5,000 members are served through YMCA aquatics programs.
