A FUN & TASTY RECIPE
Lucky's Layered Lime Dessert
By Heather Wirtz, Managing Editor of Macaroni Kid EATS

A quick and easy, leprechaun (and kid) approved dessert for St. Paddy's Day!

You will need:
  • 1 box vanilla instant pudding (3.4 oz) *
  • 4 tbsp powdered lime gelatin (3 oz box is more than enough) *
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • crushed graham crackers
  • whipped topping
  • sprinkles - optional
Directions:
  1. Combine pudding, milk and 4 tbsp of gelatin in a mixing bowl and whisk for approximately 2 minutes. Mixture will start to thicken and gelatin should be completely dissolved.
  2. Place in refrigerator for at least one hour, this will help the pudding thicken.
  3. Just before serving, layer pudding mixture, crushed graham crackers and whipped topping in small glasses; Repeat until glasses are full.
  4. Top with sprinkles and enjoy!
*Pistachio or any other flavor pudding can be substituted for the vanilla pudding and lime gelatin.

A CRAFT FOR THE KIDS
Shamrock Necklace Craft
By Nicole Torretti

Create a Shamrock necklace craft using penne MACARONI this week! Get ready for St. Patrick's Day with your macaronis!

What you need:
  • Penne (my 4 year old used 16 pieces)
  • Green paint
  • Paint brush
  • String for your necklace
  • Shamrock cutout
  • Hole punch
What to Do:
  1. Paint your penne.
  2. Let your penne dry (you can make the shamrock cutout while waiting).
  3. Punch 2 holes at the top of the shamrock, as pictured.
  4. String 8-12 painted penne (half the amount needed to make the right sized necklace).
  5. String the shamrock.
  6. String the rest of the penne on the other side of the shamrock and tie the ends together.
